Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dumplings: The Perfect Fall Dessert

As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, it’s time to embrace fall flavors. And what better way to do so than with a delectable dessert celebrating the season? Say hello to your new favorite fall treat, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dumplings. These easy-to-make baked dumplings are a true delight, featuring a mouthwatering pumpkin-cream cheese filling and a sweet brown sugar topping. Prepare to embark on a culinary journey that captures the essence of autumn in every bite.

To Make Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dumplings, You Will Need:

Tools:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 2 oz of cream cheese, cut into eight pieces
  • 1/4 cup apple cider

Instructions:

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F. To ensure your dumplings don’t stick, generously spray an 8-inch square glass baking dish with cooking spray.

Combine the packed brown sugar, granulated sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in a small bowl. Cut in the butter using a pastry blender or fork to create that delightful crumbly texture. Once you have a crumbly mixture, set it aside.

Carefully separate the crescent dough into eight triangles.

Now, it’s time to fill them! Spread 1 tablespoon of canned pumpkin on the widest side of each triangle.

Then, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the sugar and evenly space the mixture over the pumpkin layer.

Place a piece of cream cheese on the wide side of each triangle.

Then, roll the dough to the opposite point and tuck in the ends.

As you complete each dumpling, place it in the prepared baking dish. Repeat this process for the remaining triangles.

Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture generously over the crescent dumplings.

Then, add a touch of moisture and extra flavor, and pour the apple juice evenly over the dumplings.

Pop the baking dish into the oven and bake for approximately 27 to 32 minutes. Keep an eye on them, and remove them when the crescents turn a beautiful golden brown and are baked through.

As tempting as it may be, allow the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dumplings to stand for about 10 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the dumplings to set.

When ready to serve, add some vanilla ice cream or whipping cream. Enjoy!

In Conclusion:

And there you have it – a warm, comforting, and utterly delicious fall dessert that will have your taste buds dancing with delight. The combination of pumpkin, cream cheese, and warm spices wrapped in flaky crescent dough is pure autumn bliss. Whether you’re hosting a cozy dinner party or want to taste fall, these Pumpkin Cream Cheese Dumplings are the perfect choice. Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent experience. Happy baking, and may your autumn be filled with sweet moments like these!
