Ingredients
- 9 cups Rice Chex or Corn Chex (or a combination of both)
- 1 ½ cups white vanilla baking chips (*substitute chocolate or peanut butter chips if desired)
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp pink or blue edible glitter (sprinkles)
- ¼ cup pink or blue jimmies sprinkles
- ½ cup pink or blue and white candy-coated chocolate candies
Instructions
- Into a large bowl, measure the cereal and set it aside for now.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white vanilla baking chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave the mixture uncovered on High for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals until the mixture can be stirred smoothly. Stir in the vanilla.
- Pour the mixture over the cereal in the large bowl, stirring gently until all the cereal is evenly coated. For ease of mixing, you can also place the mixture in a 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag and shake until well coated.
- Add the powdered sugar, edible glitter, and sprinkles to the bag. Seal the bag and shake it vigorously until the cereal is well coated with the powdered sugar mixture.
- Spread the coated cereal on parchment paper to cool. As a final touch, stir in the pink or blue and white candy-coated chocolate candies.
- Store the Muddy Buddies in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve place Muddy Buddies in cupcake liners and place on the cupcake stand.
