Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve of Saltine crackers
  • 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers
  • ½ package of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen butter cookies
  • 1 cup butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

Prepare the Crumb Mixture:

  • Combine the crushed Saltine crackers, Ritz crackers, and Chessmen butter cookies in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. Using a rolling pin, crush the mixture until it resembles fine sand.

Incorporate the Butter and Sugar:

  • Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Add the melted butter and sugar to the bag of crumb mixture.
  • Seal the bag and work the butter into the crumbs by gently kneading and massaging the bag with your hands. Ensure that all the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.

Prepare the Pie Crust:

  • Take two pie plates and divide the crust mixture between them, using about 1 1/2 cups for each pie plate.
  • Press the mixture firmly onto the bottom and sides of the pie plates to form an even crust. The buttery richness of the Chessmen cookies will help bind the crust together.

Bake and Cool:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the pie plates with the crusts in the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Keep an eye on them to ensure they don't overgrow.
  • Once the crusts are lightly golden and fragrant, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely before adding your desired fillings.

Notes

I sometimes like using this Chessmen Cookie Pie Crust instead of graham cracker crust to change it up. It is not as sweet as graham cracker crust, which I like when the pie filling is extra sweet. My Key Lime Pie recipe is one of my favorite pies to use this Chessmen Cookie Pie Crust. I hope you will give it a try.
