The aroma of cinnamon wafting through the house makes the anticipation even stronger, ah can smell it now!

So, I know what you are thinking, Cinnamon Red Hot Popcorn sounds a little weird, but before you start scrolling again you need to try it. Once you make it you will defiantly be thanking me and find yourself wanting to make it all the time.

If you are someone who likes giving fun food and treats for every holiday, this Cinnamon Red Hot Popcorn recipe is for you. You can give them to teachers, bus drivers, hairdressers, babysitters, co-workers, friends, just anyone you can think of really. They will all love you for it.

To make your own Cinnamon Red Hot Popcorn you will need these simple tools, ingredients, and step-by-step instructions.

TOOLS

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup red hot candies

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.

In the Air Popper, pop popcorn into a large bowl, make sure to take out all the un-popped kernels, set aside. Note: Scoop popcorn with your hands shake it so any un-popped kernels will fall out then transfer to another bowl.

In a saucepan add butter, Karo syrup and red hots. Turn the stove on to medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and let cook for 5 minutes, using a wooden spoon stir constantly.

When candy coating is done, pour over popcorn and toss gently coating the popcorn. Note: You need to work fast after pouring candy coating over the popcorn. You don’t want it to harden before you can get the popcorn coated.  Don’t worry about getting every last piece of popcorn covered; it will happen throughout the cooking process.

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

Pour popcorn onto the cookie sheet, spreading out evenly. Note: Make sure to use a cookie sheet that has sides to contain the popcorn, it can be a bit messy when you stir it.

Place cookie sheet in the preheated oven and cook for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Note: Always set a timer, so you don’t forget.

Let the popcorn cool completely then break into pieces.

Enjoy the Cinnamon Red Hot Popcorn! It’s so much fun to make and tastes amazing!
