Supplies needed

  • 9”x 6” thin wooden board
  • 6” x 7” piece of Christmas Fabric
  • 3’ x 7” piece of Burlap ribbon
  • Red Pom Pom Trim
  • Silver Jingle Bells
  • Jute String
  • Christmas Floral Picks
  • Wooden Christmas Tag
  • White Paint
  • Brown Antique Wax
  • Paint Brush
  • Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Scissors

Step 1

The first step to make this Farmhouse Christmas Pocket is to paint the wooden board with my white paint. I only applied one coat of paint. I allowed the paint to dry. Next, I took my antique wax and dry brushed over both sides of the board to give it an antique look.

The picture below shows how it looks when it is finished.

Step 2

The next step is to take your piece of Christmas Fabric and Burlap Ribbon and glue them together with hot glue. I glued them together edge to edge like in the photo below.

Step 3

Then I took the red pom pom trim and hot glued that down to the other edge of the burlap ribbon.

Step 4

Now you just simply fold and glue the Burlap over the Fabric to make a nice trim piece on the top of your pocket. I think it looks so cute with the pom poms sticking out.

Step 5

Take the completed Fabric pocket and glue it to your board. I laid the board to the back of the fabric pocket and simply folded the edges over the back of the board. Then I hot glued them down.

Step 6

I added the Jute string hanger next. You can make the hanger however long you would like. I then hot glued down the jute string to both top sides. To reinforce the hanger, I glued small pieces of burlap ribbon over the ends of the jute string.

Next, I took the 3 silver jingle bells and glued them onto the burlap. I think they add such a cute look.
