French Toast Strata with Cinnamon Syrup

French Toast Strata with Cinnamon Syrup is a fun recipe to add to your collection for a brunch with your friends or for Christmas morning. You make it a head of time so it can be easy and quick for the cook. You can make it your own and add any French toast toppings you would like. Have fun with it and Happy Cooking!

French Toast Strata

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (cubed)
  • 1 (8oz) package cream cheese (cubed)
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (warmed)
  • 6 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
 

Instructions

Using a 9 x 13 baking dish spray with non stick spray. Then layer half of the bread then half of the cream cheese, repeat with the other half of bread and cheese. In a mixing bowl add the eggs, milk, butter, syrup and salt, mix to combine. Then pour the egg mixture over the bread and cream cheese. Cover and but in the fridge over night. Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees and cook for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve and enjoy.

Cinnamon Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 can (12oz) evaporated milk

Instructions

In a sauce pan combine sugar ,light corn syrup, water and cinnamon. Over medium heat bring to a boil. Boil for a couple of minutes till sugar is all dissolved. Turn off hear and let sit for five minutes. Then add evaporated milk stir to combine. Serve and enjoy.
