I love the way mantels, entryway tables and bookshelves look with tiny wooden houses placed on them. It’s a fun decoration that would look cute in your home. You can paint it any color you would like and use many things to embellish it. I really wanted something simple that had a Farmhouse feel to it, to match my home. You can place this little house alone on a shelf or table. Also you could make three or four of them and paint them all different colors to create a little town. This little wooden house is so simple and easy to make. I know you will love it. It is the perfect DIY project for you.

Wooden House DIY – Farmhouse Decor

Supplies Needed

• Small wooden house
• White Paint
• Craft Wax color Antique
• Paintbrush
• Greenery
• Jute String
• HOME vinyl sticker
• Scissors
• Glue gun and glue sticks
• Sandpaper

Step one

The first step to making this adorable wooden house is to paint it white, I used white folkArt chalk paint. Paint both front, back, and all sides. You only need one coat of paint.

Step 2

I waited until the paint on the house was completely dry. Then I took my sandpaper (I like to use a nail file) and sanded all edges.

Step 3

Once all of the edges were sanded, I took my Antique Wax and dry brushed it all over the house. Make sure to get the front, back and sides. Also make sure to brush over the edges, that you sanded. really good. I love how it gives them definition.

Step 4

Allow the Antique Wax to completely dry. You will now be adding the HOME vinyl sticker to the bottom of the house. You can purchase the vinyl here. I love the simplicity of the font.

Step 5

I decided the wooden house needed a Wreath. So, I simply cut 2 little pieces, off of a greenery stem I had, and tied the ends together with some jute string. It was that simple to make.

Step 6

I trimmed the Jute strings, so you can’t see them, and placed the little wreath onto the house to see where I would like it to go. Look how cute it is already looking. Once the wreath is where you would like it, hot glue it into place.

Step 7

I decided after the wreath was glued down, it needed a little bow on the top. I made a simple bow out of Jute string and glued it to the wreath. It really did add the perfect finishing touch.

Just like that you have made this BEAUTIFUL little wooden house. It was so easy to make!!! It goes perfectly with my Farmhouse decor. Like I said at the beginning you can paint it any color or add any decorations to match your home and home decor. That is the best part of a DIY project.
