It’s August and it’s time to be thinking about Back to School! I made this Darling Desk Organizer DIY for my desk earlier this year. I thought it would be a perfect Teacher Gift!!!! For all of you CRAFTY Moms out there, here is a simple and fun gift to give to your child’s new Teacher this year.
Materials needed
- 2 wooden Trays from Dollar Tree
- 2 wooden Boxes from Dollar Tree
- Adhesive Cork Board from Dollar Tree
- Thumb Tacks
- White Paint
- Brown Antique Wax
- Paint Brush
- Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
- Scissors
Step 1
The first thing I did to make this Desk Organizer DIY was take my hot glue gun and glued the 2 Trays together, stacking them one on top of the other. Just like in the picture below.
Step 2
Then I took the 2 small wooden boxes and glued them down into the top box. Make sure to glue them together before you glue them down into place.
Step 3
After all the glue was dry, I painted the whole thing with my White Paint. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies. Then after the paint is dry, I took my Antique Wax and dry brushed it over the paint.
Step 4
Next just for something fun I took the Adhesive Corkboard from Dollar Tree and covered the bottom part of the Pencil Holder with it. I thought it would be fun to be able to use thumb tacks and stick reminder notes on it.
And just like that, you’re done. What a fun an easy way to keep any Desk organized. Fill it with pens, pencils, sticky notes, tacks, small scissors and some gum. Your child’s teacher is going to love it!
