Here is what you need to make Fried Ice Cream!
Tools
- Mixing Bowl
- Ice Cream Scoop
- Sauce Pan
- Spider Strainer or Large Slatted Spoon
- 9 x13 Baking Dish
- Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
Ingredients
- 1 quart Vanilla Ice Cream
- 3 to 4 cups Cornflakes, make sure to get unfrosted corn flakes. I highly recommend sticking with corn flakes as they give you the best crunchy exterior.
- 3 tablespoons White Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon, this adds a delicious toasty flavor to the dessert.
- 2 quarts Oil, I highly recommend using a neutral oil to fry the ice cream in as you don’t want the ice cream to take on the flavor of the oil. I use Canola or Peanut oil.
- Any ice cream toppings you like, we like Chocolate and Caramel toppings, whipped cream and maraschino cherries.
Instructions
Step 1
Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with wax paper and set aside.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl add cornflakes, cinnamon and sugar, with your hand crush cornflakes into small pieces then mix with the cinnamon and sugar.

Using an ice cream scoop: scoop ice cream, any size you like, and coat the outside with the cornflake mixture. Press cornflake mixture into the ice cream.
Step 4
Place the Fried Ice Cream in the prepared baking dish and freeze over night.
Step 5
In a sauce pan over medium-high heat; heat oil to 360 degrees.
