Sanpete BBQ Turkey

If you’re looking for a new recipe to spice up your usual BBQ routine, then Sanpete BBQ turkey might just be the perfect addition to your menu. This delicious recipe comes from Julie Wanlass, a lunch lady at NS High School, and it’s sure to impress your friends and family.

This recipe is a great way to add some variety to your BBQ menu, and the marinade is what makes it truly special. The lemon lime soda gives the turkey a subtle sweetness, while the soy sauce and garlic powder add savory depth of flavor. The horseradish sauce adds a bit of kick to the marinade, but it’s not overpowering, so even those who don’t like spicy foods can enjoy it.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don’t want to overcook the turkey steaks. Overcooking will result in dry, tough meat, so be sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature reaches 165°F, but not much higher.

Overall, Sanpete BBQ turkey is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that is sure to impress your guests. Whether you’re hosting a summer BBQ or just looking for a new weeknight dinner idea, this recipe is a must-try. So why not give it a shot and see how it turns out? We bet you won’t be disappointed!

Here is what you need to make Sanpete BBQ Turkey:

Tools:

Ingredients:

  • 1 C. lemon lime soda
  • 1/2 C. low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 C. vegetable oil
  • 2 lbs. turkey breast steaks
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. horseradish sauce

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl or Ziploc bag, combine the lemon lime soda, soy sauce, oil, garlic powder, and horseradish sauce.

Place the turkey breast steaks in a heavy-duty Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over them or add the turkey to the marinade in the Zploc bag.

Seal the bag tightly and place it in the fridge to marinate overnight.

The next day, heat up your BBQ grill to medium-high heat. Remove the turkey steaks from the Ziploc bag and discard the marinade.

Place the turkey steaks on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. As the turkey steaks cook, brush them with a fresh coat of the marinade to keep them moist and tender.

Once the turkey steaks are fully cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Sanpete BBQ Turkey with your favorite side dishes!

Note:

This marinade is also great with Chicken.
