Decorative Wooden Tray

No Farmhouse Decor is complete with out a BEAUTIFUL Wooden Tray. This one is simply stunning and very affordable. You can Decorate it any way you want!!!! I made this one for my Son and Daughter-in-Law. It has their last name and the year they were married on it. What a fun gift for Weddings, Christmas, and Birthday’s. On this Blog I will give you step by step instructions on how to make it.

Materials

  • 12 inch Round Wooden Circle (I ordered mine from Amazon)

  • Black Vinyl Cutout. (I cut my own)

  • Waverly Wax in Antique

  • Paintbrush

  • Decorative Handles (with screws)

  • Jute Rope

  • Scissors and Screw Driver (not pictured)

The first step is to stain your Wooden Circle with the Waverly Wax in Antique. I stained both the front and the back of the circle. I applied the Wax with a paintbrush. After all of the Wax was applied I took a rag and wipe any excess off.

When it is all stained it should look like this.

Now it is time to apply the Vinyl. Make sure the Waverly Wax is completely dry before you do this. I just lightly set the Vinyl down and moved it until it was nice and centered.

Once it was where I liked it I firmly pressed the Vinyl down to the Board. If you have a credit card or squeegee you can also rub that over the Vinyl to make sure it sticks really well.

Then just simply peel the transfer tape off and throw it away. Look how Beautiful it turns out!!!

Now it is time to apply the handles. I got my handles at Home Depot. I wanted to add some jute string to the handles.

I added the jute string by applying a small dot of hot glue to the end of the handle and securing the jute string to that.

Now just wrap the jute string around the handle until it is completely covered.

I added added hot glue to the other end of the handle once again, to secure the jute string into place.

The last thing is to secure the handles to the wooden circle. I placed them where I wanted and marked where the screw holes were with a pen. Then just simply take the screws and screw driver and fasten the handles to the board, (If you don’t want to use the screws you can secure the handles to the board with E-6000 glue.)

And just like that you are all done. Look how darling it turned out. What a beautiful, fun gift for your friends or family!!!!!!

I sure hope you will make one!!!!!!
